Jianjun Zhu, Ph.D., HCLDJianjun Zhu, Ph.D., HCLD is the Director of Embryology and Andrology. Dr. Zhu was born in Beijing, China. He received his Bachelors Degree at Peking Medical University. He earned his Ph. D. at the University of Sheffield , United Kingdom. After serving as a visiting scholar at the Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetic Research in Cambridge, U.K., he worked as the Senior Clinical Andrologist and Embryologist at the London Gynecology and Fertility Center, London, U.K. Immediately before joining our team, Jianjun served as the laboratory Director of the in-vitro fertilization (IVF) program at the University of Chicago Hospital. He lives with his wife and two children in Westmont, IL. Since he assumed his position of Director of Embryology and Andrology at the Hinsdale Center for Reproduction in November, we have enjoyed tremendous success with patients ranging from those who require little laboratory intervention, to those who require in-vitro fertilization and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) with sperm obtained at surgery by testicular biopsy. The on-going pregnancy rate over the past seven months has consistently remained above 50% for all IVF patients, including two women over the age of 40, and seven couples undergoing Frozen Embryo Transfer. We look forward to continued success, and a long and rewarding relationship with Dr. Zhu in his new position. Cases once thought to require the expertise of the university hospitals are now safely and confidently handled in the privacy and comfort of our community.
